Eight Killed in Head-On Crash Between Arandis and Swakopmund

Eight people lost their lives in a devastating road accident that occurred between Arandis and Swakopmund on Wednesday night.
According to police preliminary investigations, the crash happened at around 21h00 when a minibus travelling from Arandis collided head-on with a truck coming from the Swakopmund side.
Erongo Regional Commander Commissioner Nikolaus Kupembona confirmed the incident and said authorities have opened a culpable homicide case as investigations continue into the cause of the collision.
He added that a 48-year-old Namibian man, believed to have been the sole occupant of the truck, sustained injuries and is currently considered the only survivor of the crash.
The identities of the eight deceased victims have not yet been confirmed, as police continue with notification procedures and further inquiries.
