New Year Turns Tragic Hit-and-Run Claims Life in Windhoek

The start of the new year was marked by a fatal hit-and-run incident in Windhoek during the early hours of the morning.

According to preliminary information, a pedestrian was struck and killed by a grey Audi at about 02:00 at the intersection of Hosea Kutako Drive and Mahatma Gandhi Street. The driver allegedly fled the scene shortly after the crash.

Police believe the vehicle was later abandoned, with its registration plates removed. Investigations are ongoing, and authorities say additional information will be released as it becomes available.
