Passenger Bus Collides with Elephant Herd in Omusati, Driver Injured

A long-distance passenger bus collided with an elephant in the Omusati Region early this morning, leaving the driver with minor injuries.
The incident occurred along the Omakange Iitananga road in the Amaupa area when an A J Shipena Express bus, en route from Walvis Bay to northern Namibia, struck one of several elephants crossing the road. The animals were reportedly part of a large herd of about 40.
According to available information, the driver sustained slight injuries in the crash and was transported to Okahao for medical attention. No further details have been provided. the condition of passengers or the elephant involved.
