Pedestrian was stuck by a car at Independence Avenue in Windhoek

A male pedestrian is recovering after being struck by a vehicle while crossing at a marked pedestrian crossing along Independence Avenue in Windhoek on Tuesday.

The incident occurred near the Katutura Shoprite area, where a seven-seater vehicle reportedly hit the man as he was making his way across the road. Emergency responders arrived swiftly and were already attending to the victim by the time witnesses gathered at the scene.

The injured pedestrian sustained moderate injuries but is said to be in stable condition.

Authorities have since taken the driver in for questioning, as police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
