Small Plane Crashes Near Okahao

A light aircraft crashed on Friday afternoon near Okahao in the Omusati Region after going down in open bushland for reasons that remain unclear, leaving one passenger with minor injuries.
The aircraft, registered as V5-UTD, sustained visible damage to its nose and fuselage when it came to rest in the bush. Community members from nearby areas gathered at the scene shortly after the crash as authorities moved in to secure the area.

Omusati Police Regional Commander Ismael Basson confirmed that the aircraft was carrying two occupants at the time of the incident — a pilot and a passenger. The passenger was treated for minor injuries and transported to hospital, while the pilot escaped unharmed.
The exact cause of the crash has not yet been established. Police and aviation authorities have launched investigations to determine what led to the aircraft going down, and further details are expected as inquiries continue.
