Two Heavy-Truck Collision Near Otavi

Traffic on the B8 road between Otavi and Grootfontein has been disrupted following a collision involving two heavy trucks earlier today.
The incident took place approximately 15 kilometres outside Otavi in the direction of Grootfontein, prompting the temporary closure of the affected section of the road. Emergency and traffic services were dispatched to manage the situation and ensure the safety of road users.
Otjozondjupa Regional Police spokesperson, Senior Inspector Maureen Mbeha, confirmed that the roadway remains blocked as authorities work at the scene. Traffic officers are currently controlling vehicle movement and advising motorists to proceed with caution or consider alternative routes.
Police have indicated that no injuries or fatalities have been reported at this stage, and investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
