Tyre Blowouts Leave 21 Injured on A Road Accident between Windhoek–Rehoboth Road

A total of 21 passengers sustained injuries following a road accident that took place on Monday along the busy Windhoek–Rehoboth route. The incident involved a seven-seater vehicle and a large passenger bus, both of which reportedly suffered tyre blowouts.

According to the Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (MVA Fund), the bus was carrying 45 occupants at the time of the crash. MVA Fund chief of corporate affairs, John Haufiku, confirmed that 21 people were injured in the accident. He further indicated that, despite the severity of the incident, no deaths were recorded.

Emergency services responded to the scene, and the injured were transported to nearby health facilities for medical attention. Authorities are continuing to assess the circumstances surrounding the tyre failures, while road users have been urged to ensure that vehicles are roadworthy, particularly when travelling long distances.
