Mighty Gunners Reclaim Top Spot in Namibia Premier League After Dominant Wins in Rundu

Mighty Gunners FC have returned to the top of the Namibia Premier League table after a dominant weekend, collecting six points from Rundu-based teams, Rundu Chiefs FC and Julinho Athletics FC.
The Gunners had been leading the league before the international break but dropped points in both matches after the break, allowing KK Palace to briefly take over at the top. However, Mighty Gunners have regained their form, defeating Julinho Athletics 2-1 and Rundu Chiefs 5-1 this week.
The 5-1 victory over Rundu Chiefs is now the club’s biggest win of the season, surpassing their 3-0 win against Khomas Nampol FC before the international break.
With 18 points, Mighty Gunners are level with second-placed African Stars but hold the advantage on goal difference.
In the race for the Golden Boot, Mighty Gunners’ striker Muyeka Mashiku is close behind Rundu Chiefs winger Derl Goagoseb. Goagoseb leads with six goals after scoring twice from the penalty spot over the weekend, while Mashiku has five goals.
