The Namibia Schools Sport Union (NSSU) has announced the national phase of the 2026 CAF African Schools Football Championships, with regional qualifying teams set to compete in Windhoek from 2 to 4 October 2026 for a place in the continental tournament.

According to an NSSU circular issued on 13 July, the selected boys’ and girls’ teams will represent Namibia at the CAF African Schools Football Championships, scheduled to take place in Saldanha Bay, South Africa, from 4 to 6 December 2026.

The NSSU, in partnership with the Namibia Football Association (NFA), said only learners born in 2012 and 2013 are eligible to participate, and proof of age will be required. Each region must field one boys’ team and one girls’ team, with 15 players and two officials per team, as participation in both categories is compulsory.

Regions have been instructed to complete their regional trials by 12 September, while final team lists, including player details, copies of identification documents, and parental consent forms, must be submitted by 14 September.

The NSSU also revealed that the national play-offs could serve as a scouting platform for the NFA’s U-15 boys’ team, which is being assembled for the FIFA U-15 World Cup and Festival 2026 in Azerbaijan from 22 to 31 October. That tournament is open to players born in 2011 and 2012.

Regional coaches have been encouraged to prepare their players accordingly, with further information on the final FIFA U-15 squad to be communicated by the NFA at a later stage.
