Welwitchia University Signs Partnership Agreement with Kenya Medical Training College

Welwitchia University has entered into a new partnership with the Kenya Medical Training College following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening health education and professional training.
The agreement was signed on 3 March 2026 at the KMTC headquarters in Nairobi by Acting Vice Chancellor Marius Hedimbi, KMTC Chief Executive Officer Kelly Oluoch, and the university’s Council Chairperson Monika Pendukeni.
According to the institutions, the partnership will focus on introducing specialised health programmes, strengthening research collaboration, and developing skills needed to address healthcare challenges in Namibia.
Through the agreement, the two institutions will work together to develop diploma and certificate courses supported by technical expertise from KMTC. The cooperation will also involve sharing academic resources such as libraries, laboratories and research facilities to support joint research and academic development.
In addition, specialists from KMTC are expected to contribute to training initiatives and leadership development aimed at strengthening healthcare systems and improving professional capacity.
Hedimbi said the agreement marks an important step toward equipping students with practical and internationally relevant health skills while also contributing to the country’s healthcare priorities.
The partnership comes at a time when the demand for qualified health professionals continues to increase, prompting institutions to seek stronger international collaborations to improve training standards and healthcare delivery.
