NYDF Approves N$14.9 Million to Boost Youth-Owned Businesses Nationwide

The National Youth Development Fund (NYDF) has approved a total of N$14.9 million in financing for youth-owned enterprises, further expanding access to capital for young entrepreneurs across Namibia.
The latest approvals were made through the Development Bank of Namibia (DBN) and cover funding worth N$8.6 million granted to 30 youth-owned businesses between 1 November 2025 and 30 January 2026. This marks the third round of project approvals under the NYDF since its launch.
The new tranche follows an earlier approval of N$5.3 million awarded to 16 youth-owned enterprises, which was announced at the official launch of the Fund. With the most recent approvals, a total of 46 youth-owned enterprises have now been cleared for financing through DBN, bringing the combined approved value to N$14.9 million.
According to the Ministry of Finance, DBN is in the process of finalising disbursements to several of the approved beneficiaries. At the same time, the Bank is assessing around 40 additional funding applications, with further approvals and an update on disbursements expected by the end of February 2026.
The NYDF funding window remains open, with applications assessed on a rolling basis. Young entrepreneurs who meet the funding requirements are encouraged to apply through the Offices of Regional Governors or directly via participating Development Finance Institutions, including the Development Bank of Namibia, Agribank and the Environmental Investment Fund.
The Fund reiterated its commitment to supporting viable youth-owned enterprises, noting that increased access to finance is key to strengthening youth participation in the economy, stimulating growth and creating employment opportunities nationwide.
