Public health services in Namibia have received a major boost after the Ministry of Health and Social Services was handed medical equipment worth N$3.3 million, donated by Ohorongo Cement.

The contribution is expected to improve service delivery at health facilities nationwide, with special emphasis on enhancing medical care for newborns and young children.

Among the donated items are infant incubators fitted with silicone mattresses, electric hospital beds, baby cots, bedside lockers, platform weighing scales and electrical laryngoscopes for doctors, along with other vital medical tools.

Accepting the donation on behalf of the Ministry, Director of Tertiary Health Care Clinical Support Services, Johannes Gaeseb, said the equipment will play an important role in closing existing gaps within the public health system and improving the standard of care offered to patients.
