Tigers FC Boost Survival Hopes with Hard-Fought Victory Over Khomas Nampol FC

Tigers FC strengthened their fight against relegation in the Namibia Premier Football League (NPFL) with a crucial 1-0 victory over Khomas Nampol FC in a dramatic encounter that featured two missed penalties and tense moments throughout the match.
The high-stakes clash saw both sides squander golden opportunities from the penalty spot. Tigers FC were first to miss when Engwanyama’s number 21, Kambanda, failed to convert his effort in the 25th minute. Khomas Nampol FC also missed a penalty during the match, keeping the contest finely balanced and heightening the tension on the field.
The decisive moment came in the 32nd minute when Tulani Eiseb calmly found the back of the net, scoring what would ultimately prove to be the only goal of the match. His strike handed Tigers a vital three points at a time when the club desperately needed a turnaround in fortunes.
Coming into the fixture, Tigers were positioned near the bottom of the NPFL table, just above fellow strugglers Life Fighters, and had been battling inconsistent form for much of the season. In response to the club’s precarious situation, management recently appointed Coach Nicholas “Woody” Jacobs as co-coach alongside Brian Isaaks in a bid to steer the team away from relegation danger.
Since Jacobs’ appointment, Tigers have shown signs of improvement, collecting five points from two draws and one win in their recent outings. The latest victory further signals a possible revival as the team fights to maintain its top-flight status.
The win not only eases immediate relegation concerns but also preserves Tigers’ proud record as one of Namibia’s traditional football powerhouses that has never been relegated since the establishment of the country’s Premier Football League.
Tigers will now prepare for a stern test as they are set to face league leaders Africa Star FC on Sunday in what promises to be another crucial encounter in their campaign.
