Ngurare Urges Welwitchia Graduates to Transform Their Education into Social and Economic Impact

Prime Minister Dr Tjitunga Elijah Ngurare has urged Welwitchia University graduates to step forward as key contributors to Namibia’s development, saying the nation is counting on them to transform their academic training into real social and economic impact.
Speaking at the university’s 2025 graduation ceremony, Ngurare emphasised that the country’s future progress depends on graduates who can apply their knowledge to solve national challenges. He said their qualifications position them to become innovative leaders, ethical professionals, and active participants in shaping Namibia’s transformation agenda.
Under the theme Driving Impactful Transformation through Training, the Prime Minister noted that education remains one of Namibia’s strongest tools for achieving long-term development goals, including Vision 2030. He stressed that the graduates’ training goes beyond academic achievement, having equipped them with critical thinking, ethical judgement, and the capacity to adapt in a rapidly changing world.

Ngurare highlighted the essential role of graduates in key sectors such as nursing, education, project management, and monitoring and evaluation, saying each field contributes directly to national wellbeing—from improving healthcare to ensuring transparent and effective development projects.
He encouraged graduates to embrace lifelong learning and leadership rooted in integrity, adding that ethical conduct is essential for building public trust and sustaining national progress.
Ngurare concluded by calling on the new professionals to serve their communities with purpose. “Namibia places great hope in your hands. Use your skills to innovate, uplift others, and contribute meaningfully to the future of our nation,” he said.
