President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah urge BIPA to be professional when dealing with partners

President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah has called on the Business and Intellectual Property Authority (BIPA) to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and efficiency when engaging with business partners, describing investors as a critical pillar of Namibia’s economic development.
The President made these remarks during an assessment visit to the BIPA One-Stop Centre, where she was accompanied by Prime Minister Dr. Tjitunga Elijah Ngurare. The visit was aimed at reviewing progress made at the facility and evaluating its readiness to deliver seamless services to local and international investors.
Addressing officials during the tour, President Nandi-Ndaitwah stressed that business people should be treated with priority and respect, noting that their contribution to job creation, economic growth, and national development cannot be overstated. She emphasized that investors, whether local or foreign, are partners in development and deserve efficient, timely, and professional service at all times.
“Business people, both local and international, are special partners in our development. They must be given red-carpet treatment whenever they come to your desk. You are professionals, you know what is required, and it should not take a whole week to respond to simple matters,” the President said.
She further underscored the importance of responsiveness and competence, urging officials to ensure that investors’ needs are met without unnecessary delays or bureaucratic obstacles. According to the President, professionalism at service points reflects the country’s seriousness in attracting and retaining investment.
Both President Nandi-Ndaitwah and Prime Minister Ngurare expressed satisfaction with the progress achieved at the One-Stop Centre so far. However, they encouraged all government offices designated to operate within the Centre to ensure they are fully functional by the end of January. The completion and full operation of the Centre is expected to significantly streamline and simplify business-related processes for potential investors.
The President also highlighted the need for coordinated service delivery, cautioning against a system that sends investors from one office to another. She emphasized that the One-Stop Centre must function as intended, with investors being assisted smoothly from one desk to the next without confusion or delays.
The BIPA One-Stop Centre is part of government efforts to improve the ease of doing business in Namibia by bringing key services under one roof, reducing red tape, and creating a more investor-friendly environment.
