Namibia Fuel Prices to Rise from 1 April, Announces Modestus Amutse

Fuel prices in Namibia are set to rise from 1 April 2026, following an announcement by Minister of Industries, Mines and Energy, Modestus Amutse.
Petrol will increase by N$2.50 per litre, while diesel will see a steeper hike of N$4.00 per litre, adding further pressure on consumers and businesses already facing high transport and living costs.
To cushion the impact, Cabinet has approved a temporary 50% reduction in fuel levies for a period of three months. The measure is aimed at easing the burden on motorists and key sectors that rely heavily on fuel, such as transport and logistics.
Amutse also assured the public that the country has sufficient fuel reserves and warned against panic buying or engaging in illegal fuel resale. He urged citizens to remain calm, emphasizing that supply remains stable despite the price adjustments.
The increase comes amid ongoing global fuel market fluctuations, which continue to influence local pricing structures.
