NCS Shortlists 1,250 Recruits

The Namibian Correctional Service has announced the shortlist of candidates selected to proceed to the assessment stage for recruitment into the service, as the process to fill 400 recruit positions continues nationwide.
According to a public announcement issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security on 15 May 2026, a total of 1,250 candidates have been shortlisted to write the recruitment assessment test scheduled for Friday, 29 May 2026 at 08h00.
The assessment tests will be conducted across all 14 regions of Namibia, with candidates expected to report to the nearest designated testing venue in their respective regions.
The Correctional Service emphasized that shortlisted applicants must bring their original identification documents or passports, warning that failure to produce the required documents will result in automatic disqualification from the recruitment process.
Candidates have also been instructed to bring their own pens and strictly adhere to the reporting time, with authorities stating that late arrivals will not be entertained.
The designated venues include the Government Office Park Auditorium in Khomas, Opuwo Teacher Resource Centre in Kunene, Katima Mulilo Regional Police Headquarters in Zambezi, Divundu Correctional Facility in Kavango East, Elizabeth Nepemba Correctional Facility in Kavango West, Luderitz Correctional Facility and Keetmanshoop Correctional Facility in the //Kharas Region, Gobabis Correctional Facility in Omaheke, Oluno Correctional Facility in Oshana, Hardap Correctional Facility in Hardap, Grootfontein Correctional Facility in Otjozondjupa, Evaristus Shikongo Correctional Facility in Oshikoto, as well as Walvis Bay Correctional Facility, Swakopmund Correctional Facility, and Lucius S. Manoto Correctional Service Training College in Omaruru for the Erongo Region.
The recruitment announcement, issued under the authority of Commissioner-General Raphael Tuhafeni Hamunyela, underscores the Namibian Correctional Service’s commitment to strengthening its manpower capacity and enhancing operational effectiveness through the recruitment of 400 new officers. The ongoing nationwide recruitment process forms part of broader efforts to reinforce the country’s correctional system with trained personnel capable of supporting security, rehabilitation, and correctional service delivery across Namibia.
