Prime Minister Elia Ngurare Applauds Ministers and Public Servants for Advancing National Development

Prime Minister Elia Ngurare has commended Namibia’s ministers, deputy ministers, and public servants for their commitment and dedication to implementing government programmes aimed at improving the lives of citizens and driving national development.
In a statement shared on social media, Ngurare praised members of the Executive Branch of Government for their hard work, often under demanding schedules.
“Dear Ministers and Deputy Ministers: KUDOS to you. Salutations to your daily hard work and dedication,” Ngurare wrote.
The Prime Minister explained that Cabinet, chaired by President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, meets every Tuesday to make key policy decisions, while Offices, Ministries and Agencies (OMAs) work daily to implement those decisions through the efforts of public servants.
He noted that ministers are responsible for overseeing the work of their respective ministries while also attending parliamentary sessions from Tuesday to Thursday.
“For many in the executive branch of government, weekends are non-existent and they daily put in long hours, often up to midnight, to deliver, deliver and deliver,” he said.
Ngurare further highlighted the work of Cabinet Committees, particularly the Cabinet Committee on Public Service, which meets regularly to support the implementation of Namibia’s Sixth National Development Plan (NDP6).
“One of the Cabinet Committees which meets regularly is the Cabinet Committee on Public Service. The aim is to implement NDP6 without fail,” he stated.
The Prime Minister emphasized that NDP6 is anchored on several priority sectors, including agriculture, sports, youth empowerment, quality education and training, quality health and social welfare, as well as land, housing and sanitation.
He added that key economic enablers such as mining, energy, oil and gas, tourism, water, fisheries, transport and logistics also remain central to the country’s development agenda.
“The priority pillars of NDP6 are agriculture, sports, youth empowerment, quality education and training, quality health and social welfare, land, housing and sanitation, together with all the enablers of mining, energy, oil and gas, tourism, water, fisheries, transport and logistics,” Ngurare said.
Concluding his message, the Prime Minister encouraged government leaders and public servants to maintain their momentum in delivering services and implementing development programmes.
“Let’s continue to deliver, deliver and deliver,” he urged.
The remarks reflect the government’s continued focus on ensuring the successful implementation of NDP6 and accelerating socio-economic development across Namibia.
