UNAM FC head coach Robert Nauseb admitted his side were fortunate to come away with a win after edging Okahandja United FC 1–0 in the NFA Cup semi-final.

“They dominated us with aggressive football. They wanted it more and played a lot of long balls. We are not that aggressive team, and we were lucky to score that goal. They had three or four chances which they missed,” Nauseb said after the match.

Despite acknowledging the pressure from the opposition, Nauseb expressed pride in his team’s progress this season, noting their strong performances across multiple competitions, including the Standard Bank Top 8, where they also reached the final.

“This time around we are excited and will fight for anything that comes our way,” he told a Nampa journalist.

The coach also raised concerns about player fatigue, pointing to a demanding season schedule that has stretched his squad beyond usual limits.

“The boys are very tired. They normally play around 30 games, but this season they are already at 37 games so far,” he explained.

UNAM secured their place in the final thanks to an early first-half goal from Eduardo Namib, enough to seal a narrow 1–0 victory.

They will now face KK Palace FC in the final, after KK Palace eliminated Mighty Gunners FC on penalties.
