Spain Defeat Argentina to Claim FIFA World Cup 2026 Crown

Spain have been crowned the 2026 FIFA World Cup champions after defeating defending champions Argentina 1-0 in a tense final played at the New York New Jersey Stadium.
The European champions secured their second men’s World Cup title thanks to a late extra-time goal from substitute Ferran Torres, who struck in the 106th minute after Nico Williams provided the assist to break Argentina’s resistance.
The final was a closely contested battle between two football giants, with Spain dominating possession and creating more attacking opportunities, while Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez kept his team alive with several important saves.

Argentina, led by Lionel Messi in what could be his final World Cup appearance, were unable to defend their 2022 title despite a determined performance. Their challenge became even harder after Enzo Fernández received a red card late in the match, forcing Argentina to finish with 10 players.
Spain’s triumph marks their first World Cup success since 2010 and makes them the first country to simultaneously hold both the men’s and women’s FIFA World Cup titles.
The 2026 tournament, hosted by the United States, Canada and Mexico, was the first World Cup featuring 48 teams and concluded with Spain lifting football’s most prestigious trophy in front of a global audience.
Final Result:
🇪🇸 Spain 1-0 Argentina 🇦🇷 (after extra time)
⚽ Goal: Ferran Torres (106’)
