Erongo Women’s League suspends weekend fixtures over unpaid referees’ funds

Referee

The Namport Erongo Women Regional League has cancelled all league matches scheduled for this coming weekend due to the unavailability of referees.

In a notice issued to member clubs on Thursday, 5 November 2026, the league administration said referees are currently waiting for outstanding payments and have informed the administration that they will not officiate matches until the financial matter is resolved.

The league said the issue will be formally addressed at the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Erongo Football Association, scheduled for 20 November 2026.

The administration apologised to clubs, players and supporters for the late cancellation, acknowledging the inconvenience it may cause to teams and their preparations.

The cancellation means teams in the women’s regional league will have to wait for the matter to be resolved before the scheduled matches can resume.
